SUMMARY

Responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth by Deacon Industrial as well as in the current procedures manual. Responsible for directing, coordinating and performing all activities as they relate to sales, including but not limited to telemarketing sales activities with assigned outside sales accounts and individual assigned accounts. Processes customer orders including the purchasing of items and services when required. Coordinates all activities so that work can be processed in a timely manner. Services the customer and provides quotes and inquires. Responsible for telemarketing 10-11 house accounts on a monthly basis, as directed by the sales manager. Responsible for maintaining updated records on all house accounts..

RESPONSIBILITIES

On a day-to-day basis, performs the following:

  • Prepares work orders received via telephone, mail, fax, or EDI. Orders should be processed accurately and as quickly as possible.
  • Coordinates the purchasing of items necessary to expedite the work orders when required. Non-routine items should be coordinated through purchasing.
  • Sets up material work orders for special handled materials including vendor contact to obtain necessary commitments and information.
  • Contacts individual assigned accounts with the main goal being to increase sales by providing exceptional account servicing.
  • Obtains the required information, and data, to process a return authorization on a timely basis.
  • Prepares quotations in a timely, competitive manner while supplying the customer all the required information in a complete and professional format.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, invoices, work instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret and respond to routine correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to create and use spreadsheets, as well as have experience with word processing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Ideal candidate should possess an Associates/Bachelor’s Degree. Mechanical trade oriented background is definitely a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth by Deacon Industrial as well as in the current procedures manual. The driver position is responsible for policies and procedures for material deliveries and pick-ups on a daily basis in the most expedient and cost effective manner set forth by the Shipping Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Maintain a current and proper license and medical card required by Department of Transportation.
  • Complete responsibility for own actions in regard to safety and care of the truck.
  • Maintain professional attitude at all times on the job.
  • Report all accidents/injuries to Shipping Manager.
  • Verify all material and paperwork for deliveries each morning.
  • Filling out and turning in all paperwork as directed.
  • Obtaining and giving proper signatures (proof of delivery) and packing lists for all material delivered and/or picked up.
  • Reporting to Shipping Manager upon return to facility.
  • Complete daily logs correctly and timely as required by DOT/IFTA.
  • Inform Shipping Manager of any feedback from jobsite foreman or personnel.
  • Communicating with Shipping Manager regarding any delivery issues or problems.
  • Making all deliveries and pick-ups within drivers assigned hours.
  • Provide information to improve policies and procedures set forth by Operations Director.
  • Operation of forklift and overhead crane.
  • Assist with picking pipe orders and loading trucks when needed.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing slips, work instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret and respond to routine correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
